Gift Of Christmas Meal A Success

24th December 2016

On Thursday 22nd December, a Christmas meal was generously prepared and provided through family and friends of  New Community Church, Sidcup. The meal was provided by donations from the community and church families for Bexley Food Bank clients who had visited in the past 6 months.

Everyone was treated to a marvellous Christmas meal, which included roast turkey and all the trimmings, as well as a variety of traditional Christmas puddings and light refreshments.  The excellent food was accompanied by an equally excellent display of live music, which included a mixture of blues/country rock numbers that lasted throughout the entire event.

The meal was provided through hours of hard work, support, and dedication of those within the community and New Community Church as a way of expressing to clients of Bexley Foodbank that they are cared for and loved through their difficult circumstances and moments of crisis.

It goes without saying that such an event would not be possible without the help of these hard working individuals and families.  This includes volunteers who helped with the provision of the food and drink; providing, preparing and cooking the food; serving drinks and food; providing the live music; and attending and providing companionship and friendship.

We want to say a huge thank you to not only those who attended the meal, but also to all of these people who made it all happen. Whether it was through giving your time or money, Bexley Foodbank would like to thank each and every one of you for your generosity. Thank you to the following: The Gibbs family, The Hootons family, The Tapp family, The Panton family, The Hewitt family, Charlie and Wendy January, Roger Power, Joe Symeou, Margaret Holland, Chris and Bree Palmer, Tony and Terry Restall, Terry Chapman, and Cary Mills. In addition to the families and friends listed, we would like to say a big thank you to New Community Church for serving and hosting this event.

Bexley Foodbank would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
